"Hepatitis E" Days in Nepal

First the widespread news on illness and then now (an even bigger news?) on a cure. Not long ago, the PM was down with Hepatitis E (suspected), as was Devyani Rana, the famous bride. The latter's wedding had to be postponed. This breaking story says among 2,000 healthy adults from Nepal, researchers found [read the journal article] that the vaccine was 96 percent effective in preventing hepatitis E infection. The Washington Post reports the vaccine is highly effective. GlaxoSmithKline Inc., based in Research Triangle Park, a North Carolina-based research organization, developed the vaccine in collaboration with the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Washington, D.C. Newslook carried a critical report (Terror of Vaccine Test In The Kingdom, July 23, 2000) on the project when it started 7 years ago.
