Ghising Groans

feb0105_worldreacts.jpgSubash Ghising is aging but not in his youthful vigor. He continues to challenge Delhi just as Yaser Arafat did to Tel Aviv. His dream of a Gorkhaland may never be realized, despite the fact that, if willing, Delhi can create more states. That happened with Chhatisgarh, Uttaranchal and Jharkhand. The limited automy Ghising brought to the hills after leading a violent uprising in the 1980s has not helped cheer his critics. They see his threats merely as groans of a boogyman, intent on sticking with power.
